Printing

You can print your project plan by either clicking on the File menu and selecting "Print" or clicking on the Print button on the button bar. When you do this, you will be provided with the option of doing a single or multi-page print, as shown below:

Single Page

The single page print option will send to your printer, a screenshot of exactly what you see on the screen.

Multi-Page

When you select the multi-page print option, it will take your entire project plan and it will split the print job into multiple pages. This way, you can print a large project plan across multiple pages and stick them together to see your plan as a large wall chart.

Print Settings

The printer settings are specific to the Operating System you are using. You should see a panel appear roughly similar to the one below:

Remember, the exact panel displayed will depend on the Operating System you have installed. Somewhere on this panel, there should be a "Preferences" or "Settings" type button. You will want to click this and change your print layout to landscape (instead of Portrait) and change your paper size and margin settings. If it does not print correctly, then return to this panel and try another setting. For 99.5% of customers, the print function should work correctly for your printer type, it's just a matter of choosing the right settings.

Print Tips

Use these tips to further improve your print quality:

  • Before you choose to print, set up your printer so that it prints in landscape and not portrait format. This saves time when printing.
  • Click on the Timescale bar in the Gantt, so that you can change your timescales viewed. Ideally, you want to change the timescales so that you can see your entire Gantt chart on the screen.
  • Use the "Single Page" print for the quickest and most accurate print job.
